Another country approved the use of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus

Pakistan has approved the use of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in case of emergency. This was reported by the Dawn newspaper with reference to a representative of the country's government.

The Russian drug is the third approved vaccine in the country. Prior to that, in Pakistan, AstraZeneca and the Chinese state corporation Sinopharm were allowed to use the vaccine. A local pharmaceutical company will import and distribute the Russian vaccine.

It is noted that 12 countries have approved the use of the Sputnik V vaccine on their territory. Among them are Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, UAE, Hungary and Pakistan.

Earlier it was reported that production of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine would begin in Turkey. Thus, RDIF signed an agreement with a leading Turkish manufacturer of pharmaceutical products on the production of a Russian vaccine in the country. The Foundation said that the potential production volume is millions of doses of Sputnik V vaccine per year.

There are currently several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The US also began inoculating the population with drugs from Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna.
