Armenian soldiers were surrounded near Shushi

The Armenian military was encircled near the city of Shushi in Nagorno-Karabakh. This is stated in a message published on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

The department announced the destruction of a tank and an infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) of the Armenian Armed Forces on the Lachin-Shushi highway, as well as military equipment heading from Khojaly to Khankendi.

“On the afternoon of November 9, a strike UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle – approx.” “ ) destroyed a truck with manpower of the Armenian armed forces and with a D-30 gun on a trailer, heading along the Khojaly-Shushi road in the direction of the city of Khankendi, informed the Azerbaijani side.

Earlier on November 9, it became known about the ongoing heavy fighting for the city of Shushi, located 11 kilometers from Stepanakert, the capital of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

On November 8, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan took control of Shushi. He added that the Azerbaijanis will go to the end if Armenia does not accept his terms on the withdrawal of troops from Nagorno-Karabakh.

The territorial conflict escalated sharply on September 27, after Azerbaijan announced provocations from the Armenian side and launched an offensive. Since then, the parties have agreed on a ceasefire three times, but each time these agreements have not been respected. The last agreed ceasefire came into force on 26 October.
