Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden made a slip during a public appearance, saying he was running for the Senate. Fox News reports.
“We all need to unite. So I'm proud to be the Democratic nominee for the Senate, ”Biden says in a video clip cited by FOX.
When viewing the full speech, it is clear that the former vice president did not mean this, but only accidentally used a different tense of the verb. However, his opponent Donald Trump did not fail to take advantage of the reservation, recalling other mistakes in Biden's speech.
“Sleepy Joe Biden had a particularly bad day. He could not remember the name of Mitt Romney, again said that he was running for the Senate, and forgot which state he was in, ”wrote the incumbent head of state. He considered that if he himself allowed this, then he would be recognized as professionally unfit, but his opponent is forgiven.
Earlier, Trump accused Biden of not having a plan to fight the coronavirus. “His fight against the H1N1 swine flu was disastrous. He had no idea what his own chief of staff was talking about. If Biden were in charge, perhaps 2.2 million people would die from this [coronavirus] much more deadly disease! ” – said the head of the White House.
The current head of state and his wife Melania Trump contracted the coronavirus on October 2. The American leader was treated at the Walter Reed military hospital, a few days later antibodies to the infection were found in his blood and was discharged from the hospital.
The first Biden-Trump debate took place on September 29 at the auditorium of Case Western River University in Cleveland, Ohio. The next ones are scheduled for October 22nd. The US presidential election will take place on November 3.
