The chances of improving relations between Russia and the United States after the presidential elections to be held in the United States on November 3 were assessed. Brian Taylor, professor of political science at the American University of Syracuse, said that the chances of improving bilateral ties are almost zero. He expressed his opinion in an interview with TASS.
According to him, Washington's policy towards Moscow will not change.
“I do not expect any significant changes in US-Russian relations after the presidential elections. Despite all the statements by Donald Trump during the 2016 election campaign, during his four years in the White House, practically nothing has changed in this relationship. In areas such as arms control, these relations have deteriorated. If Joe Biden wins the election, he has already made it clear that he does not expect an improvement in relations with Russia on most of the problems facing our countries, ”Brian explained.
The political scientist added that for improvement in US-Russian relations, Russia must change its policy.
Earlier polls showed Biden's leadership in four key states. He leads in Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona and, by a wide margin, Wisconsin.
General Election Day will be held in the United States on November 3. Citizens will elect a president and a vice president, and 35 senators, the entire house of representatives, 13 governors and local governments will be elected.
