EU vaccination start date announced
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the date for the start of vaccination against coronavirus in the European Union. The corresponding statement was posted on her official Twitter account.
“The time has come for Europe. Vaccinations will begin across the EU on December 27, 28 and 29. Together we will protect our citizens. Together we are stronger, ”wrote von der Leyen.
There are several COVID-19 vaccines in the world today. So, in Russia two vaccines are registered: “Sputnik V” and “EpiVacCorona”. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The United States and the United Kingdom have also begun inoculating the population with Pfizer / BioNTech.
Earlier it was reported that the leaders of the European Union countries agreed to create a unified community strategy for testing, contact tracing, and vaccination against COVID-19. The European Medicines Agency, which issues vaccine approvals, is studying the drug from BioNTech and Pfizer, but a final decision on its use has not yet been made.
