The Greek Ministry of Health announced cases of serious complications after the coronavirus vaccine. This was announced by the chairman of the National Committee on Vaccination, Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics Maria Theodoridou, RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
Vaccination in Greece began on December 27, more than 730 thousand vaccinations have already been made with drugs from the American companies Pfizer, Moderna and the Swedish-British AstraZeneca.
“There have been five cases of serious side effects associated with anaphylactic reactions and have been effectively treated. And one more case, for which there is no final documentation on its connection with vaccination, ”explained Theodoridou.
Earlier in Greece, an 85-year-old man died a few minutes after being vaccinated against the coronavirus. Before the vaccination, the doctors took a history of the patient, and he had no contraindications to the vaccine. After the vaccination, the elderly man sat in the waiting room, then suddenly lost consciousness and fell. Doctors promptly provided him with first aid and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, after which the patient regained consciousness for about five minutes and again lost consciousness.
At the end of January, one of the participants in the trials of a Chinese vaccine against coronavirus died in Peru. The woman died due to pneumonia caused by COVID-19. It is noted that she was hospitalized as soon as the disease was detected. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the patient died.
