In Karabakh, 59 military killed per day reported
The Ministry of Defense of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic reported 59 dead servicemen per day, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the military department, as of Tuesday, the death toll in the military was 1,008.
Earlier, the President of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan dismissed the Minister of Defense of Karabakh, who was wounded in battle. Harutyunyan specified that Major General Mikael Arzumanyan was appointed to this post with the title of Lieutenant General, and also stressed that the dismissal was related only to health conditions.
The aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh occurred at the end of September. The parties accuse each other of provocations. After a meeting in Moscow, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on a ceasefire in the region from October 10, but the shelling did not stop.
Azerbaijan on October 27 sent a request to the European Court of Human Rights to take interim measures against Armenia. The court noted that they would consider the request in the near future, they also recalled that at the end of September, when considering the “Armenia against Azerbaijan” petition, the court called on the parties to refrain from hostilities and comply with their obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights.
