Mexican authorities to buy up to 24 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine
Mexican authorities can use up to 24 million doses of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, said Deputy Health Minister Hugo López-Gatell.
“We have reached preliminary agreements that could give the Mexican government the opportunity to obtain vaccines from the Russian Institute named after NF Gamaleya,” the TASS agency quoted the official as saying.
Gattel also spoke about the volume of purchases of the Russian drug. “We think we could use up to 24 million doses of this vaccine for 12 million people,” he said.
Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador previously said that Mexico expects to receive a Russian-made COVID-19 vaccine in the near future.
