Roskomnadzor advised to use Russian services instead of Zoom
Roskomnadzor (RKN) recommended the Russians to more actively use domestic services for video conferencing instead of Zoom, RIA Novosti reported, citing the press service of the department.
RKN points out that at present, domestic full-fledged videoconferencing platforms have become widespread in Russia. A list of them can be found in the register of Russian software, which has been maintained by the Russian Ministry of Digital Science since 2016.
Recall that on Tuesday, distributors of Zoom solutions in Russia and the CIS restricted the sale of the online conference service to government agencies and state-owned companies in Russia and the CIS.
Earlier, the deputy head of the Ministry of Digital Industry of the Russian Federation Maxim Parshin said that global Internet giants can restrict the access of Russian state-owned companies to their products, following Zoom, but there are competitive domestic analogues of Zoom in the Russian market.
