At least 10 houses in Turkish Izmir have been destroyed by a powerful earthquake in the Aegean Sea. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Turkish authorities.

It is noted that buildings in the Izmir districts of Bayrakli and Bornov were damaged. Several houses were destroyed, one building completely collapsed. There is no information about the dead or wounded yet.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that all ministries and departments of the country have begun work to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake.

“Our state with all its capabilities is next to the citizens affected by the earthquake. All relevant departments and organizations have started to work in the disaster zone, ”he wrote on his Twitter page.

In addition, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 was recorded in Greece. So, according to RIA Novosti, one person was injured on the island of Samos. The earthquake occurred about 20 kilometers from the island.

It is noted that part of the Church of Our Lady in Karlovassi collapsed, several buildings were damaged.
