Already 28 out of 30 NATO members have ratified the accession protocols of Finland and Sweden

Finland and Sweden are on their way to join NATO. Only 2 NATO member states have not ratified their accession protocols.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The Secretary General commented on the actions of the Alliance if Sweden or Finland are under pressure from Russia

It is impossible to imagine the Allies not acting if Sweden and Finland are under any pressure, Stoltenberg said.

Finland and Sweden join NATO: the main thing

Finland together in May with Sweden applied for membership in the North Atlantic Alliance. Previously, countries did not plan to join NATO, but changed their minds after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

It was previously reported that 3 countries did not ratify the entry. It was about Turkey, Hungary and Slovakia. Now there are 2 of them.

Ukraine has also applied to join NATO. However, Stoltenberg believes that Ukraine's application cannot be compared with the entry of Sweden and Finland, since there is a war going on in the country. However, the allies will continue to provide military support.
