American ISP Blocks Twitter and Facebook Due to Trump Blocking

The Internet provider Your T1 WIFI, which provides services in the American states of Idaho and Washington, has blocked the social networks Facebook and Twitter for its customers. This was reported by the KREM TV channel.

The reason for this was the blocking of the accounts of US President Donald Trump on these platforms. The company sent out a letter to its clients in which it accused social networks of censoring information.

The Internet provider explained that he had allegedly received from customers a large number of complaints about the actions of sites and requests to “protect children from this,” as a result of which it was decided to meet halfway and block the sites. In this case, it will be possible to return access immediately after a corresponding request to the provider.

The company later backtracked. The head of Your T1 WIFI, Brett Fink, told the TV channel that social networks will be blocked only for those users who ask for it.

On January 7, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced that Trump would be left without the social network until the end of his presidential term. On January 9, Twitter indefinitely blocked his account due to “the risk of further incitement to violence.” In addition, the management of the microblogging service promised to block the account of any user who gave the floor to the US President.
