SAINT PETERSBURG, August 12. / TASS /. A program for the protection of children on the Internet, which works with the use of artificial intelligence technologies, was developed in St. Petersburg. This was announced on Thursday by the press service of the office of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Stanislav Kazarin.
This is the country's first software package that conducts analytics on social networks on the Internet, identifies “death groups” or adolescents with suicidal tendencies among users. It includes monitoring, analysis, identifying factors of the negative impact of the digital environment on youth, identifying suicidal and depressive content using an artificial intelligence program. As TASS clarified in the press service of Kazarin, the complex has passed the necessary tests.

According to the public representative of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in St. Petersburg, Nadezhda Korotovskikh, in Russia, suicide is in third place among the causes of death of minors. “At the same time, there is a growing tendency for the active shift of crimes against children to the Internet. Therefore, information security issues should be a priority,” she said.
As Korotovskikh said, several versions of the software have been developed. In particular, a program based on artificial intelligence technologies, which deals with preliminary processing and ranking of information. It allows you to assess the degree of suicide risk based on content obtained from the Internet and the most popular social networks among Russian children and adolescents.
In addition, a roadmap was developed for finalizing and implementing a draft comprehensive program for protecting minors from Internet risks and providing psychological assistance. The project includes monitoring, analysis, identification of factors of negative influence of the digital environment on adolescents, identification of suicidal and depressive content using an artificial intelligence program, as well as prompt response: blocking content and assistance in acute cases. It is expected that the program will be tested in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, so that in the future it can be used throughout the territory of the Russian Federation.
