The US will soon announce a new military aid package for Ukraine. The White House said the weapons involved are critical to Ukraine's success in the coming weeks.

This was stated by the coordinator for strategic communications of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby. He stated that the United States understands the urgency of the situation, and therefore is transferring military assistance to Ukrainian soldiers at an unprecedented speed.

The White House told when Ukraine will receive a Patriot

Kirby said the US would soon announce a new military aid package that would include weapons and ammunition critical to Ukraine.

I will not foresee Ukrainian operations or their needs, let them speak for themselves. You will see another package of US supplies in the coming days, and I think you will see in this package those materials, weapons and ammunition that we believe are vital to Ukraine's success in the coming weeks and months. he said.

Commenting on the timing of the delivery of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine against the backdrop of massive Russian attacks, Kirby noted that the US Department of Defense “has a much better idea about this.”

At the same time, he added that it would be many months before the Patriot battery could be delivered to Ukraine.

“Let me remind you that we provide Ukraine with a full range of short and medium-range air defense systems, and this is done not only by us, but also by our allies and partners. Four things Ukraine needs most now: artillery, ammunition, armored vehicles and air defense. And if you look what we have delivered in recent months and will continue to deliver, you will see that we are prioritizing air defense,” Kirby concluded.

US allocates $400 million military aid package to Ukraine

In early March, Washington announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine. The amount of this assistance is 400 million dollars.

This is the 33rd military aid package for Ukraine provided by the United States since August 2021. As part of this military aid package, Ukraine will receive from the United States:

• additional ammunition for HIMARS;
• artillery shells;
• ammunition for BMP Bradley;
• military equipment for guiding crossings;
• explosive equipment;
• funds for support, training and maintenance.
