100,000 Mariupol residents are waiting for evacuation/Mariupol City Council

The heroic defense of the blocked Mariupol continues. The Russians are constantly bombing the city, and the humanitarian crisis is gaining terrible momentum.

Ukraine, in cooperation with the UN, managed to evacuate Mariupol and Azovstal. Almost all civilians were evacuated from the enterprise, thousands of people in the city are suffering due to the blockade and cannot leave the temporarily occupied territory.

According to the Mariupol City Council, there are still about 100,000 people left in the city. They need to be evacuated, but the Russian occupiers violate all agreements on the “silence regime” and practically do not stop firing, which makes it impossible for the safe removal of civilians from the city.

100 thousand people waiting to be given a chance to survive. We must join forces, not give up and continue to evacuate civilians. Organizing a mission is very difficult, but we must do everything possible together with the international community. – said the mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko.

He also thanked Irina Vereshchuk, Volodymyr Zelensky, the UN and the Red Cross for doing everything possible and impossible to save people from the blocked city. The enemy is constantly inflicting heavy blows on Mariupol, so the situation in the city is deteriorating every day.

The defense of Mariupol: a brief overview of recent events

• An electrician from Azovstal was informed in absentia about treason. The man told the Russian invaders about the schemes of underground tunnels, storage facilities and communications at the enterprise, where Ukrainian soldiers write the history of an unprecedented feat. The invaders immediately made a video with the information they received to demotivate the brave defenders of the city.
• More than 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers are on the territory of Azovstal, there are many wounded who need immediate medical attention. Ukraine is doing everything to evacuate its heroes.
• The assault on Azovstal by Russian invaders continues. The enemy launched tanks, artillery and aircraft, but still cannot capture the enterprise and defeat our courageous fighters.
