Australia is ready to help Europe with gas
This country is one of the three largest exporters of liquefied natural gas.
Australian Minister of Natural Resources Keith Pitt has announced his readiness to increase natural gas exports to Europe if there is a shortage due to a possible Russian attack on Ukraine.
On Wednesday, January 26, The Guardian reports.
According to the minister, Australia is ready to help in case of “any request for additional supply” of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
“This demonstrates the importance of Australian resources for the supply of energy resources around the world,” the minister said.
As you know, Europe receives 40% of natural gas through pipelines from Russia. Australia mainly supplies gas to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Together with the United States and Qatar, this country is one of the three largest LNG exporters in the world.
Recall that the United States has already started sending its tankers with gas to Europe.
