Biden called chaos inevitable in the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan

US President Joe Biden said there was no way to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan without chaos.

“I don’t believe in the idea that there was somehow a way to get out (from the situation with the withdrawal of troops. – Ed.) Without the subsequent chaos,” he said in an interview with ABC News.

Biden added that his administration could not predict the subsequent behavior of the Russian-banned Taliban. Also, the president called a significant expansion of the military presence in this country an alternative to the withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan.

“If I said, 'we stay,' then we would need to be prepared to send a large number of additional troops,” Biden said.

According to a poll by the Ipsos sociological service, the approval rating of the American leader's activities fell to a minimum and amounted to 46%, after a change of government took place in Afghanistan. Compared to a poll conducted on August 13, Biden's support rating has dropped by 7%.
