Biden receives third dose of coronavirus vaccine live

Moscow. September 27. INTERFAX.RU – US President Joe Biden on Monday received the so-called booster – the third dose of the COVID-19 coronavirus vaccine.

“I'm going to get my booster dose right here,” he told reporters at the White House.

Then a health worker, whose work was shown live on American television, rolled up the sleeve of the President of the United States and gave him an injection while he answered questions from reporters.

Biden noted that “booster doses are important and it is important for us that as many people as possible get vaccinated.”

“Please do the right thing. Get your dose. It could save your life and the lives of those around you. It's easy and free,” he said.

In September, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a booster dose of Pfizer vaccine for people over the age of 65, as well as for people at high risk of serious illness who are under increased exposure to the virus.

The booster dose must be given at least six months after the second dose of Pfizer vaccine.
