The director of a private company was informed of the suspicion. According to investigators, he supplied the military with low-quality body armor.

Detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine said that the official neglected the safety of life and health of military personnel by organizing the supply of 350 low-quality body armor to a military unit in the Transcarpathian region.

The company handed over low-quality bulletproof vests to the fighters.

BEB investigators say that the director of one of the enterprises in the Kyiv region in May 2022 signed an agreement for the supply of 350 body armor.

Under the terms of the contract, he organized the supply of body armor, which, according to the documents, must correspond to the 4th class of protection. However, during the investigation, a forensic economic examination was carried out – the mentioned bulletproof vests do not meet the requirements of DSTU .

Pursuing a selfish motive, the director of the company by his actions neglected the safety of life and health of military personnel and supplied the military unit with low-quality body armor, the BEB said.

According to them, as a result of criminal actions, the head of the enterprise received funds from the budget, which were allocated for the national security and defense of Ukraine. We are talking about a total amount of 5.9 million hryvnia.

The company supplied the fighters with low-quality bulletproof vests.

The case is being investigated by detectives from the Economic Security Bureau, with operational escort from the Security Service and under the supervision of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General.

After receiving additional evidence, the head was already informed about the suspicion of legalization (laundering) of budget funds. They chose a measure of restraint for him – night house arrest.

Note! Under this article, the director “shines” from 3 to 6 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 2 years and with confiscation of property.

In the Zhytomyr region, a lieutenant beat a soldier

Then came the confession of Lieutenant Viktor Vitusevich, the commander of the second platoon of the security company of the training center of the Zhytomyr district of the urban-type settlement of Guyva. He actually admitted that he had beaten a conscript soldier and noted that he was ready to be punished. However, he added that alcohol in the army is unacceptable.
• The training center said they share the people's outrage and have launched an investigation. Moreover, at present, the person involved in the case has been suspended from duty.
• Subsequently, a video appeared in which the conscript, who was beaten by Vitusevich, asks people not to harass the lieutenant.
• The State Bureau of Investigation said that Viktor Vitusevich had already been given a measure of restraint – detention. The case is being investigated. The commander faces up to 12 years in prison.
