British intelligence confirmed UAF counteroffensive near Liman

The Ukrainian army continues to de-occupy the territories of our state. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are resolutely advancing on the city of Liman, Donetsk region.

On September 22, the Institute for the Study of War reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were carrying out counter-offensive actions near Liman. Subsequently, this information was confirmed by the British Ministry of Defense.

What is the situation in Lyman

According to the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, the situation on the battlefield is difficult, however Ukraine is advancing on territories that are important to Russia. In particular, fighting continues in the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian army is trying to liberate the city of Liman, east of the Seversky Donets River.

In addition, the British Ministry stated that that over the past three days, the Ukrainian army has fortified itself on the eastern bank of the Oskol River in the Kharkiv region. The aggressor state failed to build a proper line of defense in the region.

Why Liman is important for Russians

Earlier, Aleksey Arestovich explained why the enemy is afraid of losing Liman. In his opinion, after the capture of the UAF of this city, the entire line of defense of the invader will collapse, and the Ukrainian army will be able to begin the de-occupation of the quasi-republics. But it is not as easy to liberate Lyman and “go to the Donetsk region” as it might seem at first glance.

Also, military expert Sergei Zhdanov, in an interview with 24 channel, spoke about the prospects that will open for Ukraine after the de-occupation of Liman.
