The Canadian Foreign Ministry has ordered the families of the embassy staff in Ukraine to temporarily leave the country. This is reported on the agency’s website.

“The safety and security of Canadians, our staff and their families in our missions abroad is our top priority,” the Canadian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. According to his order, the children of embassy employees under 18 and the spouses of diplomats accompanying them will have to leave Ukraine.

On January 18, the Canadian Foreign Ministry called on citizens of the country to leave the regions of Russia bordering Ukraine and refuse any trips to the Rostov region and the republics of the North Caucasus. Prior to that, the Foreign Ministry recommended that Canadian citizens refrain from visiting Ukraine.
