Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine advised Muscovites how to check the air defense on their houses with balloons

In Russian cities, they began to increase their air defense in a panic. However, the actions of the Russian leadership defy any logic.

Such an opinion Channel 24 was expressed by Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military expert and flight instructor Roman Svitan. He recalled that air defense systems were installed directly on the roofs of buildings in the Russian capital.

In particular, the Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun system was installed on the roof of the aggressor country's Ministry of Defense.

with his head,” Svitan noted.

Air defense missiles may fall on high-rise buildings

According to a military expert, the range of the Pantsir-S1 complex “is 20 kilometers. As Svitan noted, you can put a dot on the map at the place where this air defense system is installed, and draw a conditional circle.

“You can choose any high-rise building within a radius of 20 kilometers. This is where drones, if any, and missiles of the Pantsir itself can fall,” said the colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The air defense system can work automatically

Svitan added that Pantsir-S1 is capable of operating in automatic mode.He explained that the air defense system can react and work on any object that reflects its radio beams and is not responsible for the request “friend or foe”.

That is, any Muscovite can inflate 2-3 gel balloons, tie aluminum foil to them, launch them and check whether the Pantsir system will work in automatic mode or not. However, it should be remembered that the missiles will fall within a radius of 20 kilometers.

A military expert suggested that many in Moscow are interested in the principle of operation of installations on the roofs of buildings.

“There are many Muscovites who, after Saturday evening, will sort out andwill still try to check this car. There are enough of them,” Svitan emphasized.

He added that from a military point of view, the installation of the Pantsir complex on the roofs of buildings makes no sense. It can only lead to big trouble.

Russians lack air defense systems to defend Moscow

According to the colonel of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the placement of air defense systems on the roofs also indicates that Russia does not have enough such systems to properly close the city.

If the question of how to close Moscow from certain flying objects were really decided, such systems would need to be placed around the perimeter of the city at a distance of 40 kilometers from each other. And if to overlap each other, then – at a distance of 20 kilometers.

Svitan noted that the Russians would need to put at least a dozen such systems around their capital. Then these complexes would work beyond Moscow – in the fields.

In Moscow, air defense was installed on the roofs: briefly

  • In Moscow, on administrative buildings set up air defenses. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ridiculed this incident.
  • As the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yury Ignat noted, in normal countries they install modular installations that can automatically shoot down air targets. And the Russians dragged wheeled vehicles onto the roofs of houses.
  • The Kremlin did not want to explain to its people why air defense systems were installed on the roofs of buildings in Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to answer the uncomfortable question, forwarding it to the Ministry of Defense.
  • The US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes the Kremlin is seeking to create information conditions in order to prepare Russians for a “protracted war” ” in Ukraine. Air defense systems on the roofs of houses and administrative buildings are another attempt to show that Ukraine is a threat to Russia.
