Congress itself can add Russia to the list of countries sponsoring terrorism if the State Department does not do this

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi called on US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to include Russia in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism. Otherwise, Congress will.
According to media reports, the speaker of the House of Representatives said this to Anthony Blinken during a call this week. The fact is that Congress gave the Secretary of State the authority to list countries as sponsors of terrorism.
Congress agrees with Pelosi's opinion
Journalists talked to a representative of the US Congress, who said that there are no obstacles to passing a law recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. True, this process is more complicated than adding a country to the corresponding list by the Secretary of State.
Back in May, Congress had a bill recognizing Russia as a sponsor of terrorism, but this document was aimed precisely at the fact that Anthony Blinken should put the aggressor country on the corresponding list.
According to the State Department, Russia's inclusion on this list implies a significant tightening of sanctions, because we are talking about punishments for individuals and countries that trade with a sponsor of terrorism. That is, sanctions against Russia will be significantly expanded, which can be seen in the example of Cuba, Iran, Syria and North Korea – they have much less trade relations with the world than Russia.
The media argue that this particular moment of the consequences of adding Russia to the list of sponsors of terrorism could influence the State Department and make it skeptical about it.
Zelenskaya and Pelosi meeting
As part of her official visit to the United States, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska met with Nancy Pelosi and recalled what she said back in the spring that the list of countries sponsoring terrorism can be thrown out if Russia is not on it.
During the meeting, the First Lady of Ukraine and the Speaker of the US House of Representatives spoke about civilian casualties due to the war in Ukraine and, in general, about the next crimes of the Russians.
Our conversation was about the next Russian crimes. About the children she killed. About the lives of peaceful Ukrainians who were carried away. About people who were left homeless. I am sincerely grateful to the Americans for being with us in our darkest times. For this brings our common dawn closer,” Zelenskaya emphasized.

Pay attention! Russia proves every day that it is not only a sponsor of terrorism, but also directly terrorist ristom. Each crime of infidels actualizes the issue of recognizing Russia as a sponsor of terrorism. One of the latest events, due to which Ukraine once again called for assigning this status to Russia, was a missile attack on Vinnitsa, which claimed the lives of 25 civilians.
