The Russian national soccer team has apparently registered its first corona case at the European championship. The test by winger Andrei Mostovoi from Zenit St. Petersburg had “undesirable results”, the delegation said on Friday. The day before the Russians' first Group B game against Belgium in St. Petersburg, the player was replaced by Dinamo Moscow's center-back Roman Evgenev.
During the day, more tests would be carried out at Mostovoi, said trainer Stanislav Tschertschessow on Friday at the virtual press conference before the match on Saturday (9:00 p.m. CEST). There were no abnormalities with any of the other players.
