Russian Ambassador to Zambia Alexander Boldyrev died at the age of 65. This was reported on the page of the Russian diplomatic mission on Twitter.
“The embassy deeply grieves over the untimely death of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Republic of Zambia Alexander Vilovich Boldyrev,” it was reported.
Boldyrev has been Russia's ambassador to this country since October 2019. Prior to that, he held a number of other foreign policy positions: he was an adviser to the Russian Embassy in Great Britain, and deputy permanent representative of the Russian state in Vienna. From 2010 to 2012, Boldyrev was Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
