The probability that China will become a negotiating platform between Ukraine and Russia is very small. After all, the PRC does not dare to take any steps.
The state decided not to interfere since 2014. Yury Poita, head of the Asia-Pacific region section at the New Geopolitics Network, spoke about this on air on Channel 24.
According to him, China periodically says that it supports the negotiations and allegedly plays a constructive role in ending the war. However, so far we do not see active actions that China could actually take.
China has not interfered since 2014
The expert explained that China tried since 2014 not to interfere and did not offer itself as a platform for negotiations. He understood that the differences between Ukraine and Russia, as well as between the West and Russia, are very great.
I think that China is really not interested in taking on any role, in particular as a platform for negotiations, between Kiev and Moscow. He could play some role in the multilateral format, this could improve his diplomatic position. However, I consider the PRC as a negotiating platform unlikely.

Ukraine wants to maintain friendly relations with China
Besides this, as the expert noted, Ukrainian diplomacy is doing a powerful job. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is trying to maintain friendly relations with China for a long time.
“It is objectively unprofitable for Ukraine to somehow strain or worsen relations with China, in particular now,” Poita added.
