Downed U.S. Drone Incident: State Department Says Russia Acted Unintentionally
The United States assured that they are “working closely” with allies and partners on this issue.
The collision of a Russian fighter jet with an American MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Black Sea was likely unintentional on the part of Russia.
This was stated by the representative of the US State Department, Ned Price, informs The Guardian.
In turn, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the incident with an American drone shot down by Russia over the Black Sea is “under investigation.”
Blinken declined to speak about motives or intentions for the incident, adding that further investigations should be carried out.
“What I can say very clearly is that it was a reckless and dangerous act,” the Secretary of State said and assured that the United States was “working closely” with allies and partners on this issue.
Beating an American drone MQ-9 Reaper
Recall that on March 14, two Russian Su-27 aircraft made a dangerous interception of an American MQ-9 Reaper drone in the sky over the Black Sea. One of the Russian fighters hit the MQ-9 propeller, so the US military was forced to flood the drone.
