Due to shelling by the occupiers, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was completely de-energized

The Russian military launched another strike against Zaporozhye. As a result, there was a complete blackout of the Zaporozhye NPP.

This was told in Energoatom. The department noted that the blackout at the Zaporozhye NPP occurred at 00:59 on October 8.

Diesel generators turned on at ZNPP

As a result of an enemy attack, the last line of communication with the 750kV ZNPP power system – Dneprovskaya was damaged, and after that it was disconnected . This was the reason for the complete blackout of the station. Thanks to the protective mechanisms, diesel generators immediately turned on. ZNPP staff notes that diesel fuel reserves will last for 10 days.

Therefore, it is extremely repairs are needed, as well as the restoration of communication lines Zaporizhzhya NPP with the power system. As for turning on all the power units in the face of constant shelling from Russia, as well as damage to the lines, this is impossible.

Recall that on the eve of Vladimir Putin issued another cynical decree. According to him, Russia actually appropriated the Zaporizhzhya NPP. The reaction of the Ukrainian authorities and Energoatom was not long in coming.

Putin's decision was called worthless

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stressed that Russia continues to violate international law. After all, an illegal attempt to take control of the ZNPP is yet another crime on the part of a terrorist country. The department strongly condemned this crime. It also recalled that the corresponding decision of the Kremlin tightens the risks, as well as threats in the field of nuclear security.

The reaction of Energoatom was also not long in coming. The company called Putin's decree insignificant, absurd, and also inadequate. The same applies to the issuance by Russia of other “documents” concerning the fate of the Zaporozhye NPP. Energoatom referred to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated October 4, No. 687 “On the nullity of acts violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” According to him, the relevant decisions by the aggressor country do not have any legal consequences, because they are insignificant.

Let us remind you that the day before, the first rotation of IAEA observers took place at the Zaporozhye NPP. Now there are four experts instead of two on the territory of the station.
