The head of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, shared in an interview how much the Starlink satellite Internet project costs.

So, according to him, before Starlink starts generating money, investments in a promising project to provide the planet with satellite Internet will reach the size of 5 to 10 billion dollars. At the same time, if we consider the entire period of the project, the total investment is calculated at $ 20-30 billion. In the opinion of Elon Musk himself, this is “quite a lot”.

Recall that SpaceX is tasked with launching about 42,000 Starlink satellites into low-earth orbit. And this should happen before mid-2027. Note that to date, about 1,800 satellites have been released.
