Immediately, a number of EU member states offer to transfer a million artillery shells to Ukraine by the end of the year. The Baltic countries, Poland, Finland and Romania have already supported such an initiative on specific promises for the supply of ammunition.

This is stated in the draft conclusion of the EU summit, which will be held on March 23-24.

The document also calls on countries to immediately provide ammunition, including through joint purchases. According to Handelsblatt, the wording of the document has not yet been finalized and may change by the start of the summit.

Earlier it became known that Estonia called on the EU countries to start a joint purchase of ammunition for Ukraine. Such a proposal should be approved at the summit on March 23-24. Later, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov emphasized that for the joint purchase of ammunition, the EU countries need to allocate about 4 billion euros.

The Russian occupiers repeatedly complained about the lack of ammunition. Now they have reduced the intensity of shelling. Russia can still produce a maximum of 4 thousand ammunition per day, although before the war it had more than the United States, the military expert emphasized.
