Exercise for obesity can promote weight gain
Chinese researchers from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology believe that physical activity may be ineffective for obesity. Reported by Current Biology.
To find out, scientists analyzed the energy consumption of 1,750 adults. Those who were overweight lost 51% of their calories through exercise. Those who were not overweight had a daily calorie deficit after training exceeding 72%.
This is due to the compensatory mechanisms of our body. These include increased appetite after exercise and decreased metabolism in between. It turns out that it is more difficult for overweight people to lose weight than for those with normal body weight.
Earlier, the doctor told who is dangerous to lose weight. Losing weight can be very harmful to someone who has a history of eating disorders (EID) or anorexia.
