 An explosion in a mine in Russia: at least 11 people died, almost 50 more are looking for

In Russia, an explosion occurred at the Lesyazhnaya coal mine in the Kemerovo region, as a result of which killed at least 11 people . More than 40 miners were injured.

The Governor of the Kemerovo Region Sergey Tsivilov said that dozens of people remain locked in the mine and communication with them has disappeared.

At the moment when the fire started, there were at least 287 people in the mine . So far, more than 230 people have been able to lift them to the surface.

At first, one dead miner was reported. Subsequently, several people with whom they could not get in touch were found dead. Rescuers do not know about the whereabouts of almost 50 miners.

According to the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, 45 people were injured as a result of the smoke in the mine. All victims – poisoning by combustion products. Two of them are in serious condition.

The explosion took place at a depth of 250 meters. Among the causes of the explosion, two versions are considered: equipment malfunctions and natural causes.
