Facebook and Instagram have not removed over three thousand prohibited materials

Facebook and Instagram have not removed more than 3.7 thousand prohibited content since 2015.

This is reported in the RKN report on the results of an audit of compliance with Russian legislation by American Internet platforms and the media.

Prohibited information means child pornography, suicidal and narcotic content, involvement of minors in illegal activities, etc.

“13 protocols have been drawn up. To date, the courts have considered all the protocols, the total amount of fines for failure to delete prohibited information is 43 million rubles. For non-compliance with the requirements of the Russian legislation on data localization – 4 million rubles, ”the message says.

Roskomnadzor said earlier that Twitter, after applying measures to slow down traffic, still has not restricted access to 490 prohibited materials. In May, a Russian court fined the social network a total of 19 million rubles.
