Sergey Leshchenko said that Russia is actively dispersing the fake that there seems to be no civilian population on the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.

Leshchenko noted that the relevant “statements” are made by representatives of self-proclaimed terrorist organizations in the temporarily occupied Donbas and the Russian armed forces. By this, the occupying country justifies its aggressive actions, bombings and attacks, Channel 24 reports.

Leshchenko said that in fact there are more than a thousand civilians on the territory of the plant. Meanwhile, Russia is spreading cynical fakes.

At first, the representative of the so-called “top leadership” Eduard Basurin said that there were no people on the territory of Azovstal. Subsequently, the fake was picked up by the interdepartmental coordination headquarters of the Russian armed forces.

These statements are false. There are really civilians at Azovstal who are under the protection of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Leshchenko summed up.
