Russian invaders are actively storming Avdeevka and Maryinka. This direction is of strategic importance for them.

Colonel Aleksey Dmitrashkovsky, spokesman for the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Tauride direction, spoke about this on the air of the telethon, Channel 24 reports.

Why occupiers Avdiivka

Dmitrashkovsky stressed that Avdiivka is strategically important for the occupiers in order to launch assault operations in the area of Vuhledar, where the enemy suffered many losses.

According to him, a decline in activity is somewhat noticeable in the direction of Ugledar. The enemy continues to shell positions. Yesterday, during the day, he attacked 37 times and fired at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 317 times. At night, the enemy managed to storm 4.

As the speaker said, only yesterday the invaders lost more than 3 companies of personnel. Also, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 15 tanks and 9 units of infantry fighting vehicles and other equipment in the amount of 46 units. Enemy equipment was destroyed in the area of Spartak and Vodyany. In this direction yesterday the enemy conducted active hostilities.

The strength of the Russians is drying up

Dmitrashkovsky said that the enemy had introduced additional forces into the 155th brigade. Today, March 19, it became known about the introduction of two tank companies in this direction.

The enemy suffers quite serious losses, both personnel and equipment, – said Dmitrashkovsky.

The speaker emphasized that all attempts by the Russians to storm Avdiivka are useless. Currently, the positional struggle continues. He also stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have some success. However, for an effective counteroffensive, weapons from Western partners are needed, Dmitrashkovsky added.

Situation near Avdiivka: essentials

Yesterday, the speaker said that in the area of Avdiivka and Marinka, another special forces unit of the 98th air assault brigade joined the subdivision of the 155th brigade of the Russian army.

“The moral and psychological state of this unit reaches zero. What this special unit can do is not yet known,” the military man added.

He also stressed that the enemy is suffering frantic losses in this direction.
