Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and British Foreign Minister Liz Truss discussed joint steps to curb Russian aggression. This is stated in the message of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Facebook.

“In focus: assessment of the dynamics of the security crisis created by Russia, the next steps of Kiev and London to deter Russia from further aggression against Ukraine, UK support for Ukrainian initiatives in the OSCE, destructive actions of the Russian parliament aimed at recognizing certain areas of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions as part of the Russian Federation “, the message says.

In addition, the ministers discussed preparations for the establishment of a new trilateral format of cooperation between Ukraine, Poland and the UK.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss called for a full-scale withdrawal of Russian troops from the borders of Ukraine. The diplomat added that she did not trust the statements of the Russian authorities that Moscow had no plans to attack Ukraine. According to her, in the UK they fear that Russia may undertake a series of provocations under a false flag in the coming days, as it did before.

On February 15, the State Duma supported a draft resolution on an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the DPR and LPR. The version of the document proposed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation won in the rating voting. It involves the direct submission of an appeal to the head of state without additional consultations with the Russian Foreign Ministry.
