Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on fellow citizens to refrain from travel abroad amid the worsening situation with coronavirus. RIA Novosti reports.
“The second wave, apparently, threatens to be even stronger, more dangerous than the first. This is a worldwide situation. An explosive increase in the incidence of diseases is widespread ”- stressed the speaker of the Foreign Ministry. In this regard, she urged to assess the risks, and in case of urgent need, perhaps refuse to travel abroad.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that it is too early to talk about a specific time frame for opening European borders for Russians. The ministry stressed that in order to maintain the positive trends that have emerged recently, it is necessary to maintain caution and vigilance.
Prior to that, the European Union again refused to open the borders to Russian citizens amid the coronavirus pandemic. At a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the EU, it was decided to leave unchanged the list of states with which the Community countries are allowed to open external borders – Russia was not included in it.
