Former astronaut and American chemist Catherine Coleman said she was on the International Space Station on the 50th anniversary of the Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's flight into space. She also noted the importance of celebrating Gagarin's flight at the International Space Station and around the world. Coleman previously worked aboard the orbital complex as an astronaut for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
– For me this is a very exciting night, as I was on the ISS on the 50th anniversary. It meant a lot to me and the entire crew, – said Coleman at the online celebration of the 60th anniversary of Gagarin's flight into space. The event is organized by the international organization “Yuri's Night”.
Catherine Coleman also showed a photo of the ISS crew members, taken about 10 years ago, wearing T-shirts with the image of Yuri Gagarin.
