France recorded a new record for the daily increase in infected with COVID-19

In France, a new record was recorded for the daily increase in people infected with coronavirus, RIA Novosti reports, citing the country's sanitary service.

In just the last day, COVID-19 in France was detected in more than 16 thousand people. The total number of cases since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in the country is more than 497 thousand. 31,511 people died.

The previous record for the daily daily increase in people infected with coronavirus in France was recorded on September 12. Then, 10,561 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in the country.

Earlier, European Commissioner for Health Stella Kyriakidis said that the situation with coronavirus in several European countries has deteriorated significantly. She believes that Europe may have one last chance to prevent an outbreak like the spring, so epidemiological measures need to be taken urgently.

An outbreak of COVID-19 pneumonia caused by a novel coronavirus was first recorded in December 2019 in Wuhan. On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic.
