Fresh water reserves were found under the bottom of the Sea of Azov

Fresh water reserves were found under the bottom of the Sea of Azov. This summer, specialists will start mining it, which will eliminate the problem of water supply to the Crimean peninsula.

It is known that, according to preliminary estimates, the volume of fresh water under the seabed ranges from cubic km to 10 or more. At the moment, the task of specialists is to find out the quality of the water, as well as its volume and mineralization.

Several earlier, two vessels of Rosgeologia entered the water area at once in order to carry out geophysical work, exploration and drilling. This will make it possible to find out the reserves of fresh water. Sources note that usually the value of the underflow runoff reaches 25-30% of the surface river runoff. The Don and Kuban runoff, in turn, gives a total of about 35 cubic km per year, in connection with which the underflow flow can be 6-9 cubic km per year.
