Sergei Gaidai was dismissed from the post of head of the Lugansk regional military administration. He can get the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Kazakhstan.

This was stated by the former head of the Luhansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, during an interview with Vasily Golovanov. A position in Kazakhstan is the most likely option.

Sergei Gaidai noted that the decision was not yet final and he would agree with the decision made by President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, preliminary we are talking about diplomatic work in Kazakhstan.

I will be sent to another front, in which case I hope it will be diplomatic work in another direction. Most likely, it will be Kazakhstan. This was discussed, – said Gaidai.

At the same time, the Luhansk Regional Military Administration is likely to be headed by a serviceman.

Personnel changes in the regions

On March 14, the government approved the dismissal of Sergei Gaidai, Maxim Marchenko and Sergei Gamaly from the posts of heads of the Luhansk, Odessa and Khmelnytsky regional military districts. The next day, the relevant decrees were signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Information about the alleged appointment of Sergei Gaidai as Ambassador to Kazakhstan was disseminated by the media as early as January 2023. Then Gaidai emphasized that he was a member of the team of the President of Ukraine and would work in the other direction of the front if Volodymyr Zelensky made such a decision.
