Gas supply has been resumed in Severodonetsk, but there are still problems with electricity due to constant shelling

Gas supply has been resumed in Severodonetsk, but there are still problems with electricity due to constant shelling/Collage of Channel 24 There are still problems with electricity and water.

According to the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai, the specialists were able to repair the main gas pipeline near Severodonetsk. They checked its tightness and opened the valve: now there is blue fuel in most parts of the city.

The situation with electricity and water is worse

Settlements of the Luhansk region remain without electricity. It is very difficult to restore it. This will really be done only after the end of active hostilities.

Luhansk power engineers have also already received important electrical equipment provided by partners from Poland. They brought 20 wagons with important materials to Ukraine. Subsequently, it is used to restore the supply of electricity.

The first two batches of aid have already been distributed and handed over to operators of distribution systems in Kyiv, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Luhansk, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, and Sumy regions. The third batch is awaiting distribution and transfer to the regions,” said Sergei Gaidai.

There is no centralized water supply in the Lugansk region now. However, OVA representatives and rescuers arranged delivery for local residents: on May 20 alone, they delivered 72 tons of water.

What is the situation in the Luhansk region

In recent weeks, the Ukrainian military has controlled about 10% of Luhansk areas. For comparison, as of March 11, the Armed Forces of Ukraine “held” 30% of the region. It's OK, because the Russians literally threw all their strength into capturing the region. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are still desperately defending themselves against the invaders.

The Russians have a clear plan – to capture Severodonetsk and Lysichansk. And also to cut the strategically important highway Lisichansk – Bakhmut, along which people are evacuated and aid is delivered to Ukrainian troops. It is worth adding that the infidels have been trying to accomplish this task for several weeks now.

But they are not succeeding. To do this, they repeatedly tried to force the Seversky Donets River, where they have already lost a significant amount of manpower and equipment . It comes to the point that the local troops simply refuse to cross the river.

The invaders regularly shell the peaceful cities of the Luhansk region. On May 20 alone, they damaged about 50 residential buildings in different settlements: 23 buildings in Lisichansk, 16 buildings in Privil, and 5 buildings in Severodonetsk. Many houses were destroyed in the villages of Gornaya and Popasnyanskaya communities, where enemy aircraft operate. It is difficult to calculate the exact amount of destruction there.
