Germany assessed a way to bypass sanctions against Nord Stream 2

Bundestag deputy from “Alternative for Germany” Anton Friesen praised the plans to create a “Fund against climate change”, which will help bypass the sanctions against the project “Nord Stream-2”. He told about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, the decision of the authorities of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to create such a fund will allow German companies working on the completion of construction to avoid pressure from the United States. The parliamentarian noted that this step could be a constructive solution to the problem and help avoid an escalation of the conflict. Friesen also added that Alternative for Germany already has several bills aimed at protecting Nord Stream 2 from US sanctions.

Earlier, Bild reported that Germany is planning to create a fund to bypass US sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 project. With the help of it, the authorities in the future will define the gas pipeline as “the most important element for environmental protection”, and on this basis, every effort will be made to complete its construction. For this, Germany will create a commercial enterprise whose products and services will only be used to complete the project.
