Germany does not deny that in the future they can transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine

Germany does not exclude the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine. However, when and under what conditions the country can transfer them to Ukraine is unknown.

German Economy Minister Robert Habek said that Germany does not deny that it will supply Ukraine with Leopard tanks in the future.

Germany does not exclude the supply of heavy tanks to Ukraine

It is quite possible that over time Germany will decide on the supply of Leopard to Ukraine.

Of course, this cannot be ruled out,” said Robert Habek.

His comments came two days after Germany said it wanted to supply about 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine by the end of March. Habek called this decision correct and long overdue.

Recall that on the eve of Poland and Finland offered to provide Ukraine with Leopard 2 battle tanks. However, this requires permission from Germany, since it is she who is the manufacturer of these weapons.

Greece may give up its armored personnel carriers

  • By the end of March, Berlin has pledged to deliver 40 Marder armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. But, according to the contract, the Rheinmetall arms concern must first send the Marder BMP to Greece, and not to Ukraine.
  • Therefore, a logical question arose whether Germany would be able to organize the supply of vehicles to two countries at once, because recently German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht categorically ruled out the transfer of infantry fighting vehicles from the stocks of the Bundeswehr. Like, Germany itself needs infantry fighting vehicles.
  • However, Greece acted nobly, saying that it could wait with the receipt of German infantry fighting vehicles, because now Ukraine needs them much more.
