Germany has blocked the Russian propaganda TV channel Russia Today
The TV channel itself has already condemned the actions of the German regulator and called such a decision groundless.
The German authorities have decided to ban the broadcasting of the Russian propaganda TV channel “RT Deutsch” (formerly “Russia Today”).
This was reported on Wednesday, February 2, by the Russian edition of Izvestia.
It is noted that the German media regulator MABB has decided to stop broadcasting on the Eutelsat satellite, smart TV, the RT website and application, as well as the Odyssey platform.
The TV channel itself has already condemned the actions of the regulator and called such a decision groundless.
“The actions of the German media regulator are illegal and violate the European Convention on Cross-Border Television (ECTT), the provisions of which it must strictly comply with. The regulator forced Eutelsat 9B to turn off RT DE from its broadcast grid on the basis of its baseless statements contradicting reality,” RT said.
Now the company has four weeks to appeal the decision to the administrative court.
Recall that in September last year, YouTube deleted two German-language channels of Russia Today – RT DE and Der Fehlende Part (DFP) without the possibility of resuming the account.
In addition, in March 2021, Germany blocked the accounts of Russia Today and Ruptly.
