Roskomnadzor reported that Google did not localize the storage of personal data of Russians on the territory of the countries, and an administrative protocol was drawn up for the company. For non-compliance with Russian legislation, Google faces a fine of up to 6 million rubles.

“On June 30, Roskomnadzor drew up an administrative protocol against Google LLC under Part 8 of Art. 13.11 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The management of the American company could not confirm the fact of the localization of the databases of Russian users on the territory of Russia, “Interfax quotes the agency's message.

On June 17, the third reading of the law was passed, obliging foreign IT companies with a daily audience of 500 thousand people in the Russian Federation to open their branches in the country. If companies do not comply with this requirement, they, in particular, may be prohibited from distributing advertising, as well as collecting personal data. Roskomnadzor ordered large companies to localize databases on the territory of the Russian Federation by July 1.
