Greek Prime Minister accused youth of spreading coronavirus
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that the situation with the coronavirus in the country is not easy, as young people often do not follow safety rules in public places, Interfax reports.
Mitsotakis announced that the Greek government is confident that the main source of the spread of COVID-19 infections is places of entertainment for young people.
At the same time, the head of government believes that the partial resumption of tourist reception in July did not affect the number of infections. Mitsotakis stated that the two are not related. He explained that the countries that have opened up to tourists experienced the second wave of coronavirus in the fall, not in the summer.
It is noted that among police officers in Greece, 530 people are sick with coronavirus, more than half of the cases occur in the northern part of the country.
Earlier it was reported that a general quarantine was introduced in Greece for three weeks – from November 7 to 30. This measure was taken in connection with the increase in the incidence of coronavirus. Prior to that, in a number of regions there was a curfew from 00:30 to 05:00 local time. This measure affected the “red” and “orange” zones with the most difficult epidemiological situation, including the Attica capital region.
