Gunzburg named the reasons for the increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia

MOSCOW, June 14. / TASS /. The increase in people infected with coronavirus in Russia, including in Moscow, is due to increased mobility of people, neglect of preventive measures and insufficient vaccination rates. This opinion was expressed by TASS on Monday, the director of the Center. Gamalei Alexander Gunzburg.

“We see that now the residents of Moscow are not actively taking vaccinations, some are postponing it. Now it is summer time and the exchange of traffic flows between Moscow and the regions, increased mobility of citizens. Therefore, due to the increase in summer movements and the neglect of protective measures that we we observe, naturally, and there is an increase in the incidence rate, “the scientist believes.

He recalled that until the required level of herd immunity is reached in Russia, the only way to protect against infection is to strictly adhere to preventive measures.

In Russia, according to the federal operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, 5,222,408 cases of infection were registered, 4,809,647 people recovered, 126,801 died. The Russian government launched the stopcoronavirus.rf resource to inform about the situation in the country.
