In Kyiv, at the Baikove cemetery, a farewell ceremony was held for Lieutenant Vadim Foksha, under the call sign “Delphi”. The hero died on May 8 last year at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol.

The warrior was 32 at the time of his death. Relatives and brothers managed to say goodbye to Vadim Foksha only after the exchange of bodies of the dead and a number of DNA tests.

Posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage”

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, brothers of Vadym Foksha from the Azov regiment arrived at the farewell ceremony. Together with their relatives, they honored the memory of the Ukrainian defender.

It should be noted that on May 8 last year during the defense of Mariupol at the Azovstal steel plant. The cause of death was the explosion of a Russian air bomb.

It was possible to say goodbye to the fallen warrior after the exchange of the bodies of the dead and a number of DNA tests. It is reported that Focsha's brothers handed over to his mother Svetlana and wife Tatyana the Ukrainian flag, which covered the coffin of the deceased, as well as the flag of the Azov regiment.

As noted in the publication, Vadim Foksha comes from the village of Sadovoe, Zaporozhye region. The Ukrainian first worked as a teacher, and in 2018 he joined the Azov regiment.

In Mariupol, the warrior participated in the defense of Azovstal and carried out the evacuation of the civilian population and wounded soldiers. The Defender of the Motherland was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage”.
