In Uzhgorod, they said goodbye to 39-year-old Sergei Mitropolsky. The hero died in battle in the Zaporozhye region near the town of Pologi.

Mitropolsky died on March 8 in a battle near the village of Novoandreevka. Until the last breath, the hero defended his native land.

We said goodbye to the hero on People's Square. Relatives, friends, brothers, colleagues of the deceased hero, as well as representatives of local authorities gathered there.

The priest served a funeral Liturgy, a memorable letter was read from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzny, as a token of deep gratitude for the sacrificial service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the message says.

Relatives recall that Mitropolsky was an excellent person, colleague, friend, excellent leader, a true patriot of Ukraine.

What is known about Sergei Mitropolsky

Mitropolsky was born in Uzhgorod. Studied at the Faculty of International Economic Relations of UzhNU. Subsequently, he served in the airborne troops.

Later he built a successful career at Jabil Ukraine Limited. After the start of a full-scale invasion, he went to defend Ukraine. Mitropolsky served as a senior gunner of the second mechanized company of the first mechanized battalion of military unit A7013.

The death of the hero was reported by the media a few days after the tragedy.
